Auditions for
the Ensemble occur once each year.
PBE
will hold auditions for the 2010-2011 season on June 6 at 4:30 - 6 pm at Union Hall, 2 Keeler Road, North Salem, NY, and on
June 25 at 6:00 - 7:30 pm at a the Putnam Arts Council, 521 Kennicut Hill Road, Mahopac, NY. The auditions are free. Please come see what we are all about!
Age Range: Entering 4th grade in September through college.
Prelude Ballet Ensemble
offers dancers an opportunity to develop their performance artistry, performing extended length works in various venues.
The 2010-2011 season will culminate in a gala performance in Spring 2011 at the Brewster Performing Arts Center. This
performance will feature Aladdin and the Magic Lamp as well as other works.
We hope the Westchester/Putnam Youth Symphony will accompany PBE in the concert. All students of the ballet are invited
to attend the audition. Students from all dance schools are encouraged to join while continuing to study at their respective
schools.
The audition consists of participating in a ballet class conducted by one of our choreographers.
Please bring your pointe shoes if you are currently dancing en pointe. Makeup or videotaped auditions may be offered
if needed. For the 2010-11 season, videotapes must be submitted by June 30, 2010.
PBE members are required to attend class and rehearsal starting in September on Sundays from 2 - 6pm
and at other times scheduled as necessary prior to performances. Each dancer will pay a membership fee which includes
costumes. In addition, parents are expected to volunteer for the organization. Roles include costuming, fundraising,
refreshments, volunteer coordination, publicity, and school outreach. The 2010-2011 fees will be determined after the
auditions. Acceptance letters and contract information will be distributed mid-July. Commitments will be due August
1, 2010.
