Auditions for
the Ensemble occur once each year
Held in late June or early July
Minimum Age: Entering 4th grade in September
Prelude Ballet Ensemble
offers dancers an opportunity to perform extended length ballet in a variety of venues. All students of
the ballet are invited to attend the audition and participate with the Ensemble. Students from all dance
schools are encouraged to join while continuing to study at their respective schools. The audition consists
of participating in a ballet class conducted by one of our choreographers. Please bring your pointe shoes if you're
currently dancing en pointe.
Makeup auditions may be offered if needed.
All PBE members are required to attend rehearsals and classes from
September through the Gala performance. This season we are conducting rehearsal primarily once per week, on either Friday
evening Saturday afternoon or Sunday evening. Our annual gala is produced in late winter or early Spring.
Rehearsals for optional performing opportunities will be held as they arise. Ballet demonstrations
are conducted on an as needed basis at schools, girl scout events, community activities etc. Each dancer
will pay a membership fee and a costume fee. In addition, parents become volunteers for the Ensemble and
its productions. Roles include costumes, fundraising, refreshments, volunteer coordinator, etc.
Any dancer interested
in participating with the Ensemble should complete the registration form on this webpage indicating your intent to audition
by June 1. Advanced registration enables the auditions director to plan a program for the season based
upon the number and age of participants.
