Performance is a critical part of developing artistry in young dancers. It is also the fun part!!!! Young dancers spend hours in class and only a few minutes on stage each year. Prelude Ballet Ensemble provides students an opportunity to gain excellent performing experience under professional direction in our local community. PBE gives the young dancer many exciting memories from learning classic Romantic ballets to today's contemporaries.

Each year in winter or spring, the dancers appear in a gala performance on a quality stage such as the Brewster Performing Arts Center. The dancers present lecture demonstrations and educational outreach to local schools and community groups. In addition, PBE seeks collaborations with local artists and arts organizations to enhance performing opportunities and further integrate ballet into the community.

Students from all dance schools are encouraged to participate while continuing to study and perform at their respective dance schools. The dancers will be exposed to varied styles of choreography and have numerous performance opportunities.

Prelude Ballet Ensemble was honored to be awarded with grants through the Putnam Arts Council for both the 2009 and 2010 concerts. The funds were from the New York State Council on the Arts Decentralization Program. This is a significant endorsement of our efforts to promote ballet in the lower Hudson Valley and something we treasure.
Visit, don't worry about studying and do what you love - ballet.
